For measurements (such as depth, crotch, waist and legs) the smaller number is the measurement taken with the cloth diaper or cover in its natural state and fastened at its tightest closure. The larger number is the measurement taken while the diaper is stretched out to its maximum and the fastened at its largest closure.

For drying time, a batch of 24 diapers were washed and spun dry in a Kenmore washing machine and then dried in a Kenmore dryer. Diapers were tumbled for 20 minutes and then assessed every 5 minutes for dryness. Once the diapers were no longer damp, the total drying time was written down.

For absorbency, diapers were submerged in 1000 ml of water after being weighed dry. They were allowed to soak for one minute and were then hung to drip dry for 15 minutes. After this time, they were weighed again. The dry weight was subtracted from the wet weight to find the absorbency - 1 gram water = 1 ml.

Waist Fit: Measure around baby's waist at navel. Measure over diaper for cover fit.

Depth Fit: Measure from baby's naval, between legs to above baby's bottom. For covers, measure over a diaper.

Crotch Fit: Measure between legs at front. Measure over diaper for covers.

Leg Fit: Measure around the fullest part of baby's thigh.

This list is not all inclusive, but will give you a better idea of what will work for your baby. If you find any of these measurements in error, please let us know so that we can make corrections.
